Flutopia: Soul Flutes

Featured story

Flutopia offers a touch of jazz soul

In classic jazz style, the chord progressions found in this pack were improvised as they were being recorded. Influenced by saxophone, trumpet, and piano players, Anders Bostrom is originally from a tiny town in Sweden and came to America to study at Berklee School of Music. Since then, he's played in several Broadway shows including the Lion King, Amazing Grace, and Shrek the Musical, among others.

The jazz flute plays a crucial role in building melodies in tons of rap, R&B, and soul songs including those from the likes of Travis Scott, Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Beastie Boys, and loads more.

For a layer of versatility, Bostrom made sure to perform and record a range of flute arrangements, one-shots, and phrases. We hope this pack inspires you to jazz up your next beat with a bit of soul or maybe some experimentation. The sounds in this pack were recorded at the Splice HQ studio on a Neumann U87 through a Neve 1073. Enjoy.
