Melodic bass music is for those who like beautiful things with a hard edge. Or edgy things with a soft side. It relies heavily on organic instruments such as guitars, pianos, and acoustic drums combined with synths and FX.
There’s some debate whether future bass and melodic dubstep are microgenres under the umbrella of melodic bass. Or, if all three genres run on the same bass music spectrum with melodic bass falling in the middle of the other two. Taking lighter elements from future bass and the thick heavy saws from melodic dubstep, melodic bass songs tend to be slower than either in terms of feeling and BPM.
