Creator Chats: The making of Hood Love with Simba.Got.It

From being featured on the NBA 2k21 soundtrack to creating sample packs for Splice, Simba.Got.It is an up-and-coming Chicago-based, Virginia-raised producer. With sounds ranging from hip hop and rap to Afrobeat, pop, and R&B, Simba.Got.It brings a versatile sound with a distinct bounce. We spoke to Simba.Got.It about making this unique pack.

With a strong affinity for R&B, Simba.Got.t shared, "blending those R&B vibes with modern hip hop/trap almost feels natural." He continued, "I have certain standard practices to keep my creative process flowing, and I applied them when making this pack. I tend to always start my productions by finding an intriguing melody. I kept that in mind while I did lots of sampling, running the sounds through various processing chains and then resampling them. The results are vibes of Ty Dolla $ign, Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, Khelani, Roddy Rich, and even The Dream. With this pack, all you really need is a solid drum pattern and low end. The rest is taken care of."
